Remaining page (originally blank) refers to the reply and information regarding the deceased; Ensign Francis Strachey of the 9th Regiment, Bombay, who died at Balmeer, on 22nd May, 1843. Face bears unframed, double arc: "STROUD/OC1/1845/C" datestamp, red manuscript charge mark "1", and single rim Tombstone: "J/PAID/2OC2/1845" datestamp. £10.00 [PH 337]

PH 378 1845 (18th Dec). Letter to LONDON, with 4 margin, imperf, 1d red, cancelled with oval duplex. Reverse bears blue double arc "Darwen" undated mark. PH 324 1846 (13th Jan). Wrapper with 1d red cancelled with Bow duplex (with number "12" in diamond), Lombard Street Branch Office datestamp: "LS/12JA12/1846" in Maltese Cross frame. Also datestamped with blue, unframed, double arc, datestamps: "DARLINGTON/JA13/1846/A", and blue: "DARLINGTON/JA13/1846/C". Also has a large red manuscript: "Missent", and manuscript black: "Halifax", added to address. Further cancelled with a blue, unframed, double arc "HALIFAX/JA14/1846" datestamp and a black, unframed, double arc, undated "SOWERBY BRIDGE", receiving mark. PH 263 1847 (27th Sep). Wrapper from Lewes to London with Lewes SE27 1847 sending mark and red, single circle, crowned receiving mark. Pair of crisp, black seals with 2d, pale blue imperf. £25.00 [PH 263]

PH 353 1848 (22nd May). Entire with some "cross-writing", sent from "Mile End Rd", London to Bicester. "Mile-End / 1D PAID" mark and red, circular paid (blurred), datestamp on face. Some small paper defects when opened up. £5.00 [PH 353]
PH 492 1848 (23rd Nov). Letter with cancelled 1d red, on face, and Scottish datestamp for: "NOV/23/1848", in red, on reverse. Lovely red wax seal, with capital script "W", in shield. £8.00 [PH 492]

Small envelope bearing 1d red, cancelled with oval duplex number 280, on face and small black double arc: "EPSOM/DE4/1848/A", single circle red: "PD/4DE4/1848" and red indented: "4Eg4/DE4/1848" datestamps. PH 598 1850 (1st Jan). Entire from CARDIFF to NEWPORT regarding request for "Plaintiffs costs" of £19-2-2 and signing of a deed. Red sending mark "CARDIFF / JA1 / 1850" and blue receiving mark "NEWPORT.MON /JA1 / 1850" both on reverse. 1d red on face. £6.50 [PH 598]
PH 493 1850 (30th Jan). Letter from the Court of Bankruptcy, regarding the proposed winding up of an estate. Face bears 4 margin, 1d red, cancelled with indistinct "285", Exeter duplex. Reverse bears: "EXETER/JA30/1850", unframed, double arc, datestamp, and a: "DORCHESTER/JA31/1850/C" receiving datestamp with a single, red rimmed: "NcrownT/31JA31/1850", datestamp. Has small black wax seal (in perfect condition), of a crown surrounded with the words: "Official Assigner Court of Bankruptcy Exeter District", who also signed the letter. £25.00 [PH 493]
